Cuchulainn Workwear has expanded its in-house printing capabilities with the installation of two Inkcups direct-to-object (DTO) printing systems.
The Jonesborough, Northern Ireland-based company has invested in an Inkcups Helix ONE benchtop cylindrical UV inkjet printer and X5-T flatbed UV inkjet printer, allowing it to bring more promotional product production in-house.
Cuchulainn Workwear supplies customised workwear and promotional items, including drinkware, coasters, pens, notebooks and keyrings, to businesses across a range of sectors. The investment is intended to broaden the range of branded products it can produce while keeping production under one roof.
The two machines were selected following research by managing director Alan Murphy and installed in June 2026.
Jolene Muckian, executive marketing assistant at Cuchulainn Workwear, said: “This will allow us to streamline processes and significantly improve efficiency.”
With the equipment in place, the company can decorate products including cups, pens and travel mugs alongside its existing workwear offering.
Cuchulainn Workwear moved into customer production within weeks of the installation, completing its first order – 25 branded travel mugs – in early July.
“Seeing the machines in operation so soon after installation reinforced the positive impact of the investment and demonstrated our ability to begin delivering high-quality promotional products to customers immediately,” said Ms Muckian. “As this was our first order on the new equipment, we were delighted with how it turned out.”
Installation and training were carried out over several days by Inkcups Europe field service engineer Sven Karkossa. Cuchulainn Workwear is now training additional members of its team to operate the equipment.
“Sven made sure we understood each stage before moving on, answered every question we had, and gave us plenty of time to practice until we felt confident. The machines themselves are very user-friendly and the training gave us the confidence to start producing customer orders almost immediately after installation,” added Ms Muckian.
Mr Karkossa said: “The fact that, with just a few days of training, the team was up and running and creating customer orders really highlights this.”
