Dublin-based print and signage specialist Just Print has praised the impact of its new HP Latex 800W, saying that the printer has allowed it to branch out into new applications and get a leg up on the competition.

Founded in 2007 and operating out of a specialist facility in Ballymount, Just Print offers both digital and lithographic print services, as well as full in-house signage production, working with a wide range of customers from several different sectors.

The company says that this wide-ranging offering means it depends on state-of-the-art technology, which was a large factor in it opting for the HP Latex 800W, which was installed in April this year.

Operations manager Ian Byrne explained, ‘We installed an HP Latex 365 a couple of years ago and we were really impressed with the quality of the print, so there was no hesitation in going back to HP when we wanted to add another machine.

‘The primary aim of the new investment was to extend our service offering. The new white ink capability on the HP Latex 800W allows us to stand out in an ever-growing and competitive print market. Since its installation, the HP Latex 800W printer has enabled us to increase our output considerably; we use it to print everything from small-run vinyl to full signage fit-outs, as well as any clear vinyl backed with white which can now be done in a single pass.’

The machine can print onto a variety of different substrates, including textiles, canvas, wallpaper, vinyl and banner materials. Mr Byrne and his team believe that this versatility will allow them to expand into a wide range of new markets, with the retail sector one possible target segment.

The operations director explained, ‘We are hoping to extend our services into the retail sector. Being able to print white saves time and money on reverse-out window vinyl. We are also making gains by bringing back a lot of work in-house which – prior to the purchase of the HP Latex 800W printer – had to be outsourced.

‘Our entire production team loves both the simplicity and ease-of-use of the HP Latex 800W; with the majority of parts being interchangeable by the operator, it saves us on down time.’
