Berger Textiles has been awarded the Platinum medal from EcoVadis. The rating places it among the top 1% of over 130,000 companies assessed globally for sustainability performance.
Headquartered in Krefeld, Germany, Berger Textiles has taken significant steps to reduce its environmental impact, including early adoption of recycled PET fabrics through its EVO range. At this year’s Fespa Global Print Expo, the company doubled down on its sustainable strategy by making some products exclusively available in EVO versions.
The company’s sustainability strategy is outlined in its “we.respect” manifesto, which was introduced three years ago. Alongside environmental goals, the approach prioritises social responsibility and ethical production practices, the company says. Berger Textiles also holds GRS, OEKO-TEX, and GOTS certifications.
CEO Alessandro Lanfranconi said: “This award recognises the effort we’ve made to integrate sustainability into every decision. Performance and responsibility go hand-in-hand.”
EcoVadis evaluates organisations across 21 criteria in four key areas: Environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. Its methodology aligns with global standards including ISO 26000 and the UN Global Compact.
