Manufacturer and distributor of media and surface coverings, Soyang Europe, has launched a new warp-knitted polyester backlit textile, ST-1291 Hera Luxury Backlit. It joins the company’s Sotex collection of materials.

Featuring an extra-dense structure with minimal light leakage, Soyang has described this as an excellent solution for creating vibrant and eye-catching backlit displays for events, exhibitions and retail applications. The material is compatible with both dye-sub direct-to-fabric and transfer applications. It also has minimal shrinkage and warp at less than 2%. The textile has a flat, smooth surface, soft hand touch, and excellent crease recovery which makes it easy to handle and fold for transportation, stated Soyang.

ST-1291 has widths available up to 3.2m and lengths of 100m offering scalability for a range of project sizes. It is also certified to EN13501-1 standards.

Additional benefits include full compliance with the Global Recycled Standard, which, developed by the Textile Exchange, verifies the recycled content of a material and ensures it can be recycled properly.

“Soyang Europe has witnessed a significant rise in demand for backlit applications in recent years, with more customers approaching us for support in terms of materials,” said Oliver Mashiter, sales director of Soyang Europe. “ST-1291 further expands our range and offers an improved and planet friendly solution for use across all manner of projects.”
