Roland DG has expanded its VersaStudio series with two new compact printers. The BN2-30 eco-solvent printer/cutter and the BD-12 UV direct-to-object printer are aimed at entrepreneurs, small businesses, and first-time users.
The BN2-30 is a 30-inch (736mm) printer/cutter that combines printing and precision contour cutting for a range of applications including T-shirt graphics, stickers, labels, posters, and custom displays. Its compact size allows it to fit into small workspaces, while offering capabilities that support both creative projects and small-scale commercial production.
The BD-12 is a UV flatbed printer designed for direct printing on a variety of materials and objects up to A4 size and 102mm in height. It can also print on cylindrical items, such as bottles or lipsticks, using an optional rotary axis. Compatible with soft materials like fabric and leather as well as harder substrates including plastics, wood, glass, and metal (with primer), the BD-12 is suitable for producing custom items such as phone cases, giftware, promotional products, and cosmetics packaging.
The company said that both printers are equipped with high-definition print heads and offer multiple print modes tailored to different applications. Roland DG has focused on usability, including a minimalist hardware interface with most functions accessible through its Utility software. The included FlexiDesigner VersaStudio Edition software supports design creation and printing, while VersaWorks 7 enables streamlined job management and is compatible with both Windows and macOS systems.
The company is also offering integration with its Roland DG Connect platform, which provides features like operating status monitoring, error prevention tools, and business performance tracking.
“These new models extend the accessibility of professional digital printing to a broader range of users,” said Ryugo Nimura, president of global sales and marketing at Roland DG. “Our goal is to support creativity and new business development through user-friendly and versatile technology.”
The BN2-30 and BD-12 are available globally through Roland DG’s distribution network.
