Messe Frankfurt, the organiser of Heimtextil, is teaming up with Inexmoda, a private nonprofit institute based in Colombia, to put together Heimtexil Colombia, which will run from 26 – 28 April 2022.

The expansion into Latin America was first announced in January 2020 at that years’ Heimtextil exhibition in Frankfurt. It will take place in the city of Medellin, the capital of Colombia’s mountainous Antioquia province, with Messe Frankfurt licensing the event to Inexmoda, which already operates several textile and fashion trade shows in South America.

Heimtextil is described by Messe Frankfurt as ‘the biggest international trade fair for home and contract textiles,’ and ‘the industry’s most important global event for interior textiles, interior design and interior trends.’ The South American version of the event has already attracted more than 110 exhibitors from around the world and it is hoped to also lure professional buyers from across the Americas.

The show will showcase trends and innovations from across the industry, including smart bedding, bath fashion, carpets and rugs, wall decoration, decorative fabrics, contract textiles and the hospitality business. The show is expected to welcome exhibitors from countries such as Portugal, Spain, Colombia, Italy, Turkey, India and France as well as visitors from the Americas, especially from those countries with the highest market potential including the USA, Brazil, Mexico, Peru, and Colombia.
