Epson has launched the SureColor G9000, a new high-production Direct-To-Film (DTF) printer aimed at commercial garment decorators and textile producers seeking higher productivity and reliability. The SC-G9000 expands Epson’s DTF portfolio alongside the SC-G6000 and is positioned as the company’s first high-production, roll-to-roll DTF system.

The G9000 boasts user-replaceable printheads
Epson says the SC-G9000 has been developed as a complete, fully integrated solution, with Epson-manufactured printer hardware, printheads, inks, and software designed to work together to ensure consistent quality and long-term reliability.
The launch reflects Epson’s continued investment in fast-growing textile printing segments. Since 2020, DTFilm has emerged as one of the fastest-expanding digital textile technologies, with forecast annual growth of 8%, while Direct-To-Garment printing volumes have declined. Epson positions the SC-G9000 as a response to this shift, targeting higher-volume DTF production environments.
At the heart of the system is Epson’s PrecisionCore Micro TFP printhead technology, combined with a built-in front heater, and 1.6-litre UltraChrome DF ink pouches intended to support sustained throughput. The printer operates at a default resolution of 1200 x 600 dpi, which Epson says enables faster production speeds while maintaining image quality. A built-in after-heater is designed to prevent ink dripping and extend media compatibility.
Automation is a key focus of the SC-G9000, with daily maintenance tasks carried out automatically. These include a fabric wiper that cleans the printhead and automated suction cap cleaning, reducing operator involvement and helping to maximise uptime in production environments.
The printer supports media widths up to 1626 mm, and features user-replaceable printheads to minimise downtime. A 4.3-inch touchscreen, signal lamp, and internal lighting provide visual feedback during operation. Workflow support includes Epson Edge Print Pro and Fiery Digital Factory Epson Production Edition RIP software, as well as compatibility with third-party RIP solutions.
“With the launch of the SC-G9000, Epson is strengthening its leadership in the fast-growing DTFilm market,” said Phil McMullin, head of sales, commercial and industrial, Epson UK. “Customers have told us they need greater productivity, more reliability and less hands-on maintenance. The SC-G9000 delivers on all fronts, giving demanding production environments a high-performance solution engineered entirely by Epson.”
The Epson SureColor G9000 will be available through authorised resellers from summer 2026.
