UFabrik has appointed Monika Mourao as its new European sales director, a move the company says will support its ongoing expansion across European markets.

Ms Mourao brings over two decades of experience in digital printing and textile applications to the role. Her background spans sales, business development, and technical product integration across the EMEA region.

Ms Mourao began her career in the printing industry selling banner media and flag textiles for screen printing. She later joined Gandy Digital, a company known for its early innovations in grand-format digital printing. As general manager for Poland, she played a key role in launching the AquaJet range of printers, a water-based dye-sublimation technology designed for direct-to-substrate printing on polyester textiles. These systems were introduced in widths of 3.2 and 5 metres. Following Gandy Digital’s acquisition by Agfa, Ms Mourao took on the role of sales manager in Poland.

Her experience includes establishing a distribution business focused on textile-based applications and accessories. During this period, she became the first dealer for Berger Textiles in Poland, Czechoslovakia, and the Baltic states. After eight years, she sold the business and went on to join EFI, where she spent nearly a decade as sales development manager in Poland, focusing on market growth and long-term customer engagement.

Speaking about her new position, Ms Mourao said: “I was looking for a new challenge and there is a huge opportunity in regions like Poland, the Netherlands, and Benelux, where customers are waiting for fresh energy and a solutions-orientated integrated approach. UFabrik is uniquely positioned to deliver this.”

Robin East, co-founder of UFabrik, commented: “I have known Monika for a long time. There are not many individuals in this industry that have her depth of knowledge and breadth of experience. She has been involved with wide format digital printing from the beginning, and like us, recognised the inevitable migration towards digital textiles.”

He added: “She brings credibility, trust, and numerous strong relationships that will propel UFABRIK forward. We’re delighted she has joined us at senior board level and also as a shareholder in the business.”

Ms Mourao joins UFabrik as both a European sales director and equity shareholder, with a remit to further develop the company’s presence and partnerships throughout the region.
